About Me

Dr. Dustin Feld is an algorithm enthusiast and professional nerd. He spent more than a decade at the Fraunhofer Institute in the Algorithms and High-Performance Computing department developing modern combinations of optimization algorithms and AI in real-world scenarios. This means that in addition to the purely mathematical aspects and the easily measurable aspects such as profitability or short distances, the aspects of empathy and interpersonal relationships were always part of the optimization goal. Also in his dissertation in the mathematical field of agile optimization, such extended objectives were always in special focus besides classical optimization.

Together with his team, he founded adiutaByte GmbH from Fraunhofer and since then has been providing algorithms that are integrated as seamlessly as possible into existing systems, thereby adding a very relieving dimension to the user experience. Even though adiutaByte now serves many other industries with its solution – the core industry and matter of the heart is still the care industry, e.g. in algorithmic route planning for outpatient care services or recently also algorithmic duty scheduling.

At Fraunhofer SCAI, I worked in the High-Performance-Computing department for more than 10 years, partially alongside my studies/PhD on inhouse as well as on algorithm development and clients‘ codes‘ optimization and parallelization for heterogeneous computing systems.

During my research, I presented my and our work at several conferences in this field such as:
– GTC 2016 (San José)
– CGO 2015 (San Fracisco)
– HiPEAC 2013 (Berlin)
– EuroLLVM 2013 (Paris)
– SPIE High-Performance Computing in Remote Sensing V 2015 [Program Committee] (Toulouse)

…and others presented our work also at…

– CLUSTER 2017 (Honolulu)
– PDP 2018 (Cambridge)
– COSH 2016 (Amsterdam)

… and several more…

My work was published in several IEEE Proceedings, Springer Books & Publications, Taylor & Francis Journal-Articles, Frontiers (in Genetics) Jornal-Articles and others…
